Ethical Reflection on Ready Player One

Morrow wrote in his autobiography that he’d left GSS because ... he felt that the OASIS had evolved into something horrible. “It had become a self-imposed prison for humanity,” he wrote. “A pleasant place for the world to hide from its problems while human civilization slowly collapses, primarily due to neglect.” (p. 120)
(Halliday speaking) “I created the OASIS because I never felt at home in the real world. I didn’t know how to connect with people there. I was afraid, for all of my life. Right up until I knew it was ending. That was when I realized, as terrifying and painful as reality can be, it’s also the only place where you can find true happiness. Because reality is real.” (p. 364)
It is an often topic that circulates now a days, about world domination, and what have we done to this planet we live in. Everyone has it’s own way to manipulate their reality and have different perspectives about the world. For some people it is video games, for other people is book, music. Certain activities that manage to focus our thoughts and perception.

In the book Ready Player One, the OASIS system is presented, In my opinion it is an interesting resource for learning and I see it as a great tool for being open source, for everyone to modify that “reality” in order to create.

We live in a globalized world, culture has being taken away from our daily lives, as we grow in society, cultures are slowly faded away, with an interface like the OASIS, our personal and cultural values could be modified into a global schema, it depends on the stimulation and interaction people have with this system.

I think the concept behind OASIS is a good resource to analyse how we live now a days, we use technology all the time, it can also define certain features into our daily lives, we learn from media, an it is a tool that is very sharp and has two blades, depends on us on how we use it. Finally is an virtual integration where communication is established.

It is interesting how movies and books are connected in certain topics, many writes and directors are heading a same pathway, where the main focus is technology, as our human kind transcendence.

Thinking about the future, as I see everything today, I think it is possible to have that kind of technology such as the OASIS system in the future, but like the movie Back to The Future, our perception about the future has no solid basis.

Many systems are being developed, but the focus of that software are limited by their creators, and many of that software are closed, in order to create an immense system such as the OASIS, it is vital to make it open source, because the limitation will be from their creator, and everyone could become a creator.

The Elephant and the Blind Programmers + 4.6 SEM: 4+1 view into software architeture + Six Blind Men

4+1 view, displays the use-case view scenarios for a whole project, it is segmented in 4 counterparts: Logical View, Development View, Process View, and Physical View; with all this view it is possible to view the relations between each stage of the software development, and how it goes the requirements and data through each one of the process for developing software. Performing an analytical architecture. With this structure is possible to actually know what the software is doing. The point of view determine the abstraction of what is observed, defines with certain knowledge what the observed is. The creation of simple models and techniques allows the comprehension of some topics to be easier, and manages to avoid misunderstanding and have a vast scope and complete vision of the whole entity. In the programming criteria perception is an important key factor that creates interpretation by understanding what is observable. Without any resources to analyze the observed is imposs...

Hello

Hello What I expect from my Design and Architecture course is to learn all the concepts shown and understand them fully, and I'm very excited to learn the programming language, Ruby. I have different hobbies such as sports like climbing and boulder, riding bicycle, basketball. Also I love nature, I really like to go camping, grow plants, and I like animals. Other hobbies I really like is electronics, like building and learning about music synths, MIDI Controllers, and other stuff related. WarGames

How far technology can go? It is an often question everyone ask, including such philosophical questions about we humans and our creations, just like our Frankenstein Monster, our creation could bring chaos to ourselves. We have the power to create and the limit of our creation could be bypass by that same creation. This movie called War Games, bring this topic and it is an actual matter, and now even more because now a days technology had reached tremendous power and capacity that is very impressive, some tasks that we humans cannot do, or maybe as fast, are done by our own creation. Just like the arguments of the Android David in the movies Prometheus and Alien Covenant, David reached a conscious level that defined him to be as he was and committing every action during the movie. It is that self evolution that keeps growing and it hasn’t the same limits as human interpretation has. Another example is this classic movie 2001 A Space Odyssey, from S. Kubrik, HAL 9 000, who has e...
